Not being content with the solo wholesale slaughter of an entire musical idiom, I've somehow managed to enlist the aid of
several musical miscreants in my endeavor to spread the "joy". Performance dates are on the Calender Page.
UPDATE 05/2012
Toolshed -
Up until October 20th, 2010 I had no intention whatsoever of ever playing again in a band situation (see above whining).
However, when 'Harmoni-cool-cat' and head honcho of (shameless plug coming) First String Promotions here in Phoenix,
Buzz Fowler, approached me on that day about his need to quickly put together a house band for a local blues club, I just
said yes without another thought. (NOTE - that last sentence may well be grammatically abusive but I just write 'em as I
think 'em). Playing with Tracy, Tony & Buzz is neither your run-o-the-mill 4 chords and a cloud of dust, nor is it yo' mommas
blues; some Ray Charles, Tom Waits, Al Green... Did our first hosting gig on the November 27th, 2010 and packed the joint
with listeners (read drinkers) and musical participants. It's the first time I've ever hosted a jam session kinda deal, and it's
a hoot. Ya play 5 or 6 songs, get some other players up to sit in, get up on stage to help out at your leisure throughout the
evening, and then you even get paid. Great venue, The Eldorado, in Scottsdale.
The New Brothers -
I get to work with the two most gracious and talented musicians in the valley, Charlie Dickens and Reggie Chavez. I could
go on about the pedigree the two of them hold, and how honored I am to be a part of a group that is not just good, but
great, magical, eclectic, and not held hostage with 'delusions of grandeur'. We're awfully good. And we'll get better. And for
sure we'll be playing shows all over town. Keep very tuned.
By myself -
Playing solo acoustically is something pretty new for me... It has its downsides; no band to hide behind, no goofy-ass
distorted guitars to mask my inadequacies, and no one to blame mistakes on. But it also means I get to do exactly as I
please. These days that equates to the freedom to play as much of my own material as I or anyone else can stand. Luckily
there are venues in this town that actually allow me to perpetuate said criminality; open-minded clubs, street fairs, wine
bars, barn dances, excorisms etc. The best part is that I get to deconstruct my own songs (those previously presented in a
full band format), and reconstruct them acoustically.
The Lost Souls -
Another chance to ply my own crapola... The approach has changed every time I've used this loosely-based conglomerate.
First it was a 3 piece powerblues trio. Then a more sophisticated 4 piece. And now it's back to basics. Toolshed drummer
and compadre Anthony Smith is joining me in an effort to (once again) deconstruct the material and resurrect it in a format
more deserving of it's "gutter blues" roots. Expect a lot of noisy percussion, and lots of processed guitars. We debut in
August... see calender page puh-leeeeeeeeeeas.
Backstreet Jones
Killer classic rock /r&b band. My pahdners, Synth-guitarist Brian Puglisi, drummer Mike Faydek, and bassist Ron Tropiano,
make this happen the only way I could do it.... it's fun.
New recording projects -
At this juncture I'm going full tilt with these 5 projects. Keeping it as it is will give me the time to broaden their scope.
So for the foreseeable future I'll be keeping the studio time nil.
