Pretty self-explanatory:
Me, Charlie Dickens and Jeff Englund... doing what we do without regard for the consequences.
This is my record label. More importantly it's the home of some absolutely killer musicians: Pal
Shazar, Jules Shear, The Mother Truckers, Tony Furtado, and Mostly Bears. One of the best
groups of Indie label bands anywhere. Check 'em out... Most of the bands play up here in
Phoenix occasionally.
Out and out the best roster of renegade talent in the known universe; Tom Waits, Jolie Holland,
Roky Erikson, and Mose Allison. This is the real stuff.
Words alone can't describe what Phillip does... a one-man band? Definitely not even close. Just
take a look at the vid for "Summons Song". If it doesn't make you a believer, you have no soul.
These are the people who devote the time and energy to keep you up to date on what's going
on musically in Phoenix. Links to open mic sites, jams, and the news about who's playing where
and when.
You'd figure in a metro area of almost 3M people that there would be more than one so called
"alternative newspaper"... not so. This is the one, the only. And it's as good as any other out
there. Aside from the comprehensive local music coverage, check out anything Sarah Fenske
writes.
Killer street scene in downtown Tempe by ASU every Thursday evening from 5 to 9. All manner
of weirdos from yours truly to music majors from the university playing electric violin through a
"boomerang" (if you don't know what it is you really should check it out).
This is my buddy Buzz's company site. He knows what he's doin', he books a killer roster, he has
his finger on the pulse of what goes down in this town, and he plays a mean-ass harp ta boot.
